Malayalam superstar Mammooty is finally acting in a Kannada film. The film, to be produced by K Manju, will be directed by newcomer Abhay Simha.
The film, titled 'Shikhari', was supposed to go on floor a couple of months back itself. Abhay Simha had narrated a story to Mammootty and the zctor was very much impressed by it. The director had tried to rope in Konkana Sen Sharma for the heroine's role, but failed. Though Mammooty was very much interested in the film, it didn't take off as producer N R Shetty finances were in a bad shape.
Now K Manju has taken the responsibility of producing the film. He went with the director to meet Mammooty in Pollachi where the star was busy with his new film 'Chattambi Nadu'.
The muhurath will be held by this year end.
