One of the most eagerly awaited releases scheduled for this Diwali, Vijay starrer 'Vettaikaran' has been cleared by the Censors with an ‘UA’ certificate, say our sources.
But, it is not clear whether the film will be released on time due to differences between AVM Productions and Sun Pictures, the producers and distributors respectively.
Our sources say, Sun Pictures, who have revolutionised film marketing in Kollywood, had asked the producer to reshoot some portions of the film. But Vijay and AVM were not interested in the suggestion and took the film to the censors without their approval.
The big budget film, directed by debutant Babu Sivan, promises to be a mass entertainer. Anushka Shetty plays the female lead and Vijay Antony scores the tunes.
