After 'Hudugaata', Sanjay is back with another love story. Just as in his earlier film, Sanjay has given more emphasis to the technical aspects of the film, rather than to the script.
'Parichaya' tells the story of Jayanth (Tarun) and Nimmi (Rekha) who meet each other on a Valentine's Day. Just as Cupid strikes them, they have to go their different ways without having enough information about each other. The rest of the story narrates their futile attempts to find each other. Though they come very close to each other several times, they just fail to meet. What follows forms the crux of the story.
The entire film rests on the hide and seek element which has been seen in umpteen movies. Slow narration is no help as well. The director could have avoided the comedy track of Shobharaj and Chidanand, which has got nothing to do with the film.
Sanjay has tried to tell an urban story in a trendy way. The visuals by P K H Doss are stunning. Jassi Gift has given some trendy as well as hummable songs such as 'Nadedaaduva Kaamanabille', 'Kudinotave', and 'Kannalli Nooru Kanasu'.
Tarun is as expressionless as he was in his earlier films. His co-star in 'Love Guru', Dilipraj has dubbed for him in this film and it does not suit his body language. Rekha's new look is attractive. Avinash's new dialogue delivery goes well with the audience.
