The latest buzz doing the rounds in Kollywood is that international movie channel ‘HBO’ plans to buy the TV rights of ‘Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja’, a period film directed by Hariharan.
The Rs 25 crore film has already broken collection records in Kerala and its Tamil version is going great guns at the B.O.
If the deal comes through, the makers of 'Pazhassi Raja' will get an amount to the tune of about Rs 15 crore, it is reported. The film, which has already minted money by selling video and music rights, seems poised to become the first Malayalam movie to have such an honour.
The film is a biopic on Pazhassi Raja, the prince of a small state in Malabar, who fought valiantly against the British in the early years of 19th century.
