All the manipulation has come to naught. The strategies have come unstuck… as 'Prince' Vivek Oberoi gets the royal exit from 'Ra.One'.
Reportedly, Arjun Rampal was the premier choice for the villian's role in the Shah Rukh Khan production. However, Rampal's painful back problem posed a major hurdle in his nodding assent to the role. Meanwhile, sensing this canny opportunity Vivek Oberoi ingratiated himself in SRK's favour… in order to bag the antagonist's role. In fact, as per close sources, he'd auditioned for it too!
However, all izz well on the back front, presently. And Arjun Rampal, the national award winning actor (Rock On!!), has romped right back into the project, courtesy his regular medication and apt treatment.
Director Anubhav Sinha was expressly keen on Rampal enacting the villain's role, as it suited him perfectly. Besides, the duo of SRK and Rampal had created magic, matching histrionics in 'Om Shanti Om.'
A close source avers, "It's true that Vivek was being considered as a back up option, but now that Arjun is recovering speedily, he will be in 'Ra. One' and is all charged about his role in the film."
The flick has a clutch of heavy duty stunts, however, SFX technology will smoothen out the punches for Rampal. Guess, Rampal's fighting fit for 'Ra.One'….
